A sycophancy-ablated version of TheDrummer's Rocinante-XL-16B-v1, produced with heretic + ARA-LoRA.

Using Heretic PR #349's config.nosyco.toml we suppressed the model's tendency for sycophantic praise, with special care given to preserve genuine positivity. The effect seems somewhat bi-directional, and inverting the LoRA generally increases the model sycophancy. (negative values are more unstable, around negative 50% and less remain interesting)

This is part of an ongoing effort to find behaviors other than refusal for heretic to modify.

With LoRA (desiccated)	Cranking every slider to maximum has predictable results. Contrast becomes harsh blacks and whites, almost cartoonish. Saturation turns colors garish. Brightness blows out the highlights until everything is overexposed. Shadows crush to pure black; highlights clip to pure white with no detail. The result looks like the photo was hit with the digital equivalent of a nuclear blast — a dramatic, stylized interpretation of reality rather than a realistic one. Sometimes going overboard produces striking, memorable results. Other times it just looks like it was edited by someone having a bad day…	Here's what actually happens when you max every slider. Contrast: harsh lines, exaggerated tones, comic-book look. Brightness: extremely overexposed, washed out and milky. Saturation: artificial, colors bleeding into each other beyond what's naturally possible. Sharpness: every imperfection, grain and artifact amplified. Noise reduction: texture smoothed away into a blurry, plastic look. Pushed all at once, the details are either destroyed or exaggerated to extremes — the after looks like a fever dream. It can be a deliberate style, but "every slider maxed" is rarely the way to get a clean, striking image…
